Ms. Landau grew up in Rockland County, about 45 minutes from New York City in the Hudson River area. Her love of farmland came from the family farm her grandparents owned where the extended family would live in the summers.
Her mother was a musician and homemaker, her father was a business man and avid art collector. The art in her childhood home formed her sensibilities and love of painting.
In the early 80ís and 90ís she became fascinated with making monotones and etchings using the images she always loved, people, animals and the everyday things that inspired her. She was accepted into the California Society of Printmakers in 1996 and is still a member today. Her print “Squishy in the Center” was among those chosen to be in the Library of Congress permanent print collection from the Centennial book for the California Society of Printmakers in 2014.
In 2004 she help found the Lafayette Art Gallery in Lafayette, CA. bringing fine art and art education to the area. She taught art from 1998 - 2014. Ms. Landau has a degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Her work is in private and university collections and abroad in the Florean Museum in Romania, as well as the Library of Congress of the United States. She currently lives and paints in her studio in The San Francisco Bay Area.
